Mr. Burrell - Videos

We are working on life cycle projects and the students are observing and recording the life cylce of a butterfly. This video shows the second stage, called the puppa stage with the students answering questions and making predictions.

This second video also touches on important strategies that students can use when completing their individual grade 2 assessment.

We work together on these skills in class with the hope that the students will use these consistently on their own. Continue to check the website for practice comprehension sheets you can complete at home.

Strategy One - Read the piece twice and put a checkmark in the corner.                                                               Strategy Two - Retell the beginning, middle and end parts of the story.                                                                Strategy Three - Read question 1 and then go back and highlight the answer in the text.                                     Strategy Four - Continue to complete each question by locating the answer in the text.
